Learning Specialist

We have grown steadily over the past seven years and are looking for versatile writers capable of tackling subjects ranging from public health to engineering, diversity & inclusion, business skills, and more.

As a Learning Specialist, you will write scripts for training videos, e-learning, facilitator and participant guides for instructor-led training, job aids and related content (you can find examples in the “services” section of our website).  While learning industry experience is helpful, it is not necessary; experience in marketing/advertising, technical writing, academic research, or other types of writing should be transferable.

This is a 100% virtual, term-of-project role with the possibility of growing into a regular part-time or even full-time position.

Responsibilities / Outcomes Delivered

  • Review source material provided by clients (e.g., whitepapers, web pages, books, old training slides, etc.) and translate it into well-organized, easy-to-follow training materials.
  • Conduct interviews with client subject matter experts to better understand our audience and the tasks we are training them to perform.
  • Follow Sonata Learning’s guidelines and templates to write outlines, scripts, slide bullet points and other types of copy for client training programs.
  • Collaborate with graphic designers, animators, audio engineers, and provide guidance on how the content of the scripts can be translated to different media.
  • Ensure tasks are completed within the allotted hours, by the established deadline, according to project specifications.
  • Occasionally proofread/edit other writers’ work.

Design Specialist

We have grown steadily over the past seven years and are now looking for versatile graphic designers with basic animation skills to help us reach the next level.

The Design Specialist will take scripts drafted by our editorial team and transform them into attractively designed videos, slide shows, infographics, documents, and interactive training modules (you can find examples in the “services” section of our website).  While experience creating e-learning is helpful, anyone with solid graphic design and basic animation skills (think simple PowerPoint or Vyond animation), an ability to adapt to clients’ branding, and a good understanding of how to create infographics should be able to succeed in this role.

This is a 100% virtual, term-of-project role with the possibility of growing into a regular part-time or even full-time position.

Responsibilities / Outcomes Delivered

  • Work with writers to translate scripts into various types of media including slideshows, printed booklets, video storyboards, etc.
  • Create mood boards reflecting client branding.
  • Design infographics and icons.
  • Do light PowerPoint animation (previous experience not required – anyone with a general understanding of animation can do this).
  • Lay out print materials and PDFs in InDesign.
  • Collaborate with writers, animators, audio engineers, and the QA team to create multimedia products.
  • Follow Sonata Learning’s design guidelines and production processes.
  • Ensure tasks are completed within the allotted hours, by the established deadline, according to project specifications.

Production Specialist

The Production Specialist supports the Learning and Design teams by proofreading scripts and preparing slide decks and web page content for client training programs (you can find examples in the “services” section of our website).

This is a 100% virtual, term-of-project role with the possibility of growing into a regular part-time or even full-time position.

Responsibilities / Outcomes Delivered

  • Proofread/edit scripts and other documents
  • Create slide decks based on scripts provided by writers and templates furnished by graphic designers
  • Search for appropriate photos in stock image repositories
  • Do very light copywriting and assist with research tasks as required
  • Ensure tasks are completed within the allotted hours, by the established deadline, according to project specifications
  • Do quality assurance reviews of interactive e-learning modules, animated videos, and websites.
  • Assist with various administrative and research tasks as necessary.

Operations Specialist

We have grown steadily over the past seven years and are looking for highly organized, detail-oriented and dependable admins to support our Manager of Operations.

This is a 100% virtual, term-of-project role with the possibility of growing into a regular part-time or even full-time position.

Responsibilities / Outcomes Delivered

  • Update finance and project information in Airtable (if you are generally proficient with spreadsheets, we can teach you how to use Airtable).
  • Post job advertisements on various websites, monitor responses, and arrange skills assessments / interviews with candidates.
  • Assist with scheduling for projects (client meetings, research interviews, etc.).
  • Help with research for marketing campaigns.
  • Support project teams as needed.
  • Do light proofreading as required.
