Data Storytelling

Description

In a world where nearly everything is tracked and quantified, helping stakeholders understand and act on data is an essential professional skill.

This workshop builds on the narrative framework established in our Storytelling Skills for Professionals course and adds techniques for integrating data in a way that is simple and persuasive, yet accurate and respectful of the complexities and uncertainties involved.  We will also look at the key differences between data analysis, data visualization and data storytelling, and how each can support the others.

The course can be delivered on its own or in combination with our Storytelling Skills for Professionals workshop as either a half-day session reviewing fundamentals or a full-day workshop where participants will have extensive opportunities to apply the framework and skills to their own projects (or pre-prepared case studies) and receive constructive feedback from the facilitator.

To ensure that every attendee has the opportunity to actively participate and receive personal feedback, larger groups will require additional sessions/facilitators.
