From high-level strategy to hands-on content production, Emil’s experience covers the full spectrum of learning design and delivery. Emil has consulted Fortune 500 companies, US government agencies, universities and global nonprofits on training strategy, and spent several years leading the learning team at a healthcare-focused enterprise software company. With a background in journalism, web design and multimedia production (his first learning-related job was producing animations and voiceover narration for e-learning modules), Emil applies his diverse technical skill set to help clients develop high-quality content a reasonable cost.


Senior Learning Strategist

Nata has worked in instructional design, Learning & Development, HR and performance management for over 20 years. Prior to consulting, she worked for BP, developing talent and learning strategies as well as running face-to-face workshops and events. Nata holds a Master of Science degree in Industrial-Organizational Psychology, which she applies in conducting training needs assessments for Sonata’s clients.

Kathleen McCann is a writer, instructional designer and e-learning developer. She has developed instructional content for corporations, nonprofits, universities and entrepreneurs on topics such as public health, workforce diversity and financial management.


Senior Knowledge Management Strategist

Joel Alleyne has considerable experience leading knowledge management (KM) projects and information systems implementations for international clients in the non-profit sector, insurance, law, health care, financial services, professional services and all levels of government.  His KM expertise spans the entire systems development life-cycle – from strategic planning to systems design, development, integration and implementation.  Joel is also an educator in the field, teaching graduate-level courses as a practitioner-in-residence at the University of Toronto.


Learning Specialist

Skyler Schrempp is a writer and e-learning developer. She has worked for over ten years in curriculum development and implementation, and has extensive leadership experience in the non-profit sector. She has developed content for NGOs, businesses, and nonprofits on topics such as public health, diversity and inclusion, social media, and arts integration.


Operations Manager

Kat is Sonata Learning’s primary point of contact for accounting, scheduling and logistics for training delivery, and support for technology products.


Lead Designer

Cody directs the visual aspects of Sonata’s work, balancing clients’ existing brand identity with cutting-edge design and UI/UX best practices. He has extensive experience finding design-based solutions to complex and delicate problems, with a technical skillset encompassing motion graphics, graphic design, web, mobile, traditional media, and virtual/augmented reality.


Senior Technologist

Nate Simpson has extensive experience leading and participating in the hands-on development of high-performance, scalable web and mobile solutions, serving the needs of clients in finance, government, health care, and academia. He is an expert software developer and experienced team leader and entrepreneur who understands how to balance business needs with technical mastery. Nate holds a Master’s degree in Knowledge Media Design from the University of Toronto.


Training Consultant / Facilitator

Shaheen conducts “train-the-trainer” and capacity-building workshops to help clients apply best practices for activity-based, learner-centered training. She has led the design and implementation of training programs for international business organizations and nonprofits that today serve over 10,000 learners in 20 countries. Based in Paris, Shaheen specializes in working with organizations that promote gender inclusion and access to financial services for women in Africa, Central Asia, Southeast Asia and the Middle East.

Jay Sukow has over a decade of experience leading workshops on communications, team collaboration and creative problem solving for top global companies including PepsiCo, McDonalds, Kraft, Harris Bank, Eli Lilly and Yahoo! UK.
